Race for the Cure inspirational quote t-shirt contestAre you the next face of Community Health Network inspiration? It’s simple. All you have to do is tell us about your favorite quote and how it inspired you while going through your breast cancer journey. One lucky winner will be chosen and his or her quote will be added to the Community Health Network 2012 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure team shirt. Join the 2012 Community Breast Care team here >> The winner will also receive two complimentary seats at the annual Susan G. Komen Pink Ribbon Celebration luncheon. Indy Super Cure 2012

Please note: All public tissue donation appointments and volunteer spots for this event have been filled. There will be two more collection events in 2012 for all women - March 10 and November 3. To register to donate after February 1, please visit http://komentissuebank.iu.edu/tissue-donors/register-to-donate/. At the Indy Super Cure, to be held January 28-29, 2012, Community Breast Care's breast surgeons and clinical staff will make up at least 20 percent of the team of 600 volunteers working to collect breast tissue for the Komen Tissue Bank to advance breast cancer research. Many Community employees also have signed up to be donors of healthy breast tissue. In fact, so many people across central Indiana have signed up that, with the exception of women of diverse racial backgrounds, there is no immediate need for additional tissue donors for the Indy Super Cure event. The Komen Tissue Bank does, however, hope to substantially increase the number of tissue samples from women of color, because breast cancer affects women differently depending on their ethnic background. Partners in Survival™ workshop

Recent research indicates that women with breast cancer benefit medically and emotionally from having strong social support. This exciting workshop will focus on the needs of men who support these women. This free workshop is ideal for breast cancer patients and their male supporters—husband, adult son or friend. Special "women only" and "men only" sessions will be held. Event co-chairs are Bob Moeder, president of Kroger Central Indiana, and Bryan Mills, president and CEO of Community Health Network.
